As the first artist in the 2026 Artist-in-Residence program (A!R) presented by Ace Hotel Brooklyn × Field Meridians, Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. presents his exhibition Planets in Transit from May 14 to July 31, 2026 at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn Gallery.

On any given night in New York City, an ecstatic energy pulsates from its sacred dancefloors. Planets in Transit, the newest project from Brooklyn-based photographer and DJ Guarionex Rodriguez Jr., celebrates the liberatory potential of this energy and the dancefloor as a transformative refuge. This body of work, on view in the Gallery at Ace Brooklyn, honors the spaces that align bodies in dance — celestial, planetary, spiritual, and human.

About The Artist

Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. is a Dominican-American artist based in Brooklyn, NY. His work explores diasporic unity and niche musical movements that have served in the creation of community and identity in the past and present. His artistic practice has been rooted in themes of trust and vulnerability that have provided a voice for multiple communities by holding space that reflects and connects with others. Simultaneously, his experimentation through analog techniques bring elements of abstraction to his figurative images. This manual practice heightens the intimacy of his work while additionally asking the viewer to consider how we are influenced by our surroundings.

On view May 14 – July 31, 2026

Quiana Park’s Phenomenology, Be Easy is an intimate exploration of holding grief and gratitude in the same body—missing people, moments, and versions of oneself, while also feeling deeply thankful to be here, still creating, still supported by community. The exhibition is a practice in presence: noticing experience as it happens, without fixing it or rushing past it. The phrase “Be Easy” recurs throughout the work, offering permission to soften, slow down, and allow both grief and gratitude to exist without shame…

Caire is a multi-sensory designer and sound curator. As the founder of Vinho, her slow libations tasting and listening company, Caire centralizes her practice around curating warm, design-forward, multi-sensorial experiences. This perspective is reflected in her “curated-format” style of play. Caire blends influences from classic house, percussive Pan-African dance, deep house, jazz, house, hardgroove, Balearic beat, downtempo in order to orchestrate soundscapes that feel sensual, atmospheric, and sensorial.
