Planets In Transit by Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. Opening Reception

As the first artist in the 2026 Artist-in-Residence program (A!R) presented by Ace Hotel Brooklyn × Field Meridians, Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. will present his exhibition Planets in Transit from May 14 to July 31, 2026 at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn Gallery. A reception will be held on opening night beginning at 7PM, featuring a special DJ set by Tina Snow Le and Guarionex and a host of programming to follow throughout the duration of his residency.

On any given night in New York City, an ecstatic energy pulsates from its sacred dancefloors. Planets in Transit, the newest project from Brooklyn-based photographer and DJ Guarionex Rodriguez Jr., celebrates the liberatory potential of this energy and the dancefloor as a transformative refuge. This body of work, on view in the Gallery at Ace Brooklyn, honors the spaces that align bodies in dance — celestial, planetary, spiritual, and human.

About The Artist

Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. is a Dominican-American artist based in Brooklyn, NY. His work explores diasporic unity and niche musical movements that have served in the creation of community and identity in the past and present. His artistic practice has been rooted in themes of trust and vulnerability that have provided a voice for multiple communities by holding space that reflects and connects with others. Simultaneously, his experimentation through analog techniques bring elements of abstraction to his figurative images. This manual practice heightens the intimacy of his work while additionally asking the viewer to consider how we are influenced by our surroundings.
